Flash Flood in West Papua Wasior

Flash Flood disaster last condition in West Papua that resulted Wasior Victim 92 died. While the estimated 84 people missing and injured reached 853 people. disaster that devastated all of Infrastructure, including government-owned buildings. in the news says that the conditions there are still in ruins and access is still very limited. hundreds of residents are now displaced in five locations, including in front of Wasior Airport, in the old district office, and three other locations in the Village Manggurai.

Funds amounting to Rp 300 million has been sent. and next at $ 500 will also be found at short notice. In addition to cash, donations of clothing, fast food, medicines, tents, equipment and other families of 13.5 tons already sent. As for till now, causing flash floods are still unclear. however, there are possible causes of deforestation is continuing at the site.

Flash floods occur Monday, October 4, 2010 in the morning due to heavy rain that fell continuously for 6 hours in the District Wondama Bay, West Papua Province. Inundated eight villages, namely Kampung Wasior I and II, Kampung Rado, Mom Kampung, Kampung Maniwak, Manggurai Kampung, Kampung Kampung Wondamawi and Wondiboy.
